Atal Bihari Success Story:

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born on 25th December 1924 in Gwalior city of Madhya Pradesh. His father’s name was Krishna Bihari Vajpayee and his mother’s name was Krishna Devi. His mother was a housewife and His father was a teacher as well as a poet. Atal Bihari had learned poetry from his father Krishna Bihari Vajpayee.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee completed his schooling from Saraswati Shishu Mandir and Gorkhi Bada Gwalior and for his graduation degree, he was admitted to Maharani Laxmibai College. Later, he completed his post-graduation in Master of Arts from DAV College.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee started his political career at a very young age. At just the age of 15, he joined RSS and in 1942 he was imprisoned for 23 days just because he supported the “Quit India Movement”.

In 1944 he was appointed as the general secretary of “Arya Samaj“. At an early age, he decided not to marry just to support his country and wanted to give his full time to his country. On the 15th of August 1947, when India got Independent from the Britishers he became a full-time member of the RSS.

In 1957 when he was in Bhartiya Jana Sangh he elected Lok Sabha elections in two places Mathura and Balrampur. Unfortunately, he didn’t win the Lok Sabha election from Mathura but he won the election from Balrampur. At the same time, seeing his amazing ability to deliver speeches, Jawaharlal Nehru said that one day this boy would definitely become the Prime Minister of India.

After the death of Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Atal Bihari Vajpayee became the most important person in Bhartiya Jana Sangh and all the responsibilities came on to Atal Bihari Vajpayee to bring Bhartiya Jana Sangh party upward.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee once sent behind bars in 1975-1977 during the time of “Emergency” Along with him, his many parties were sent to jail. In the same year in 1977, Janta Dal won the election, Morarji Desai became the Prime of India and Atal Bihari Vajpayee became the Foreign Minister of India. In this period Atal Bihari Vajpayee became the first Indian foreign minister who gave a speech in Hindi at the United Nations General Assembly.

In 1979 Janta Dal party fell and again Congress won the election and Indira Gandhi became Prime Minister of India. But, till then Atal Bihari Vajpayee made his image very clear in politics. In 1980 Atal Bihari Vajpayee with his long-time friends Lal Krishna Advani and Bhairo Singh Shekhawat formed a party called Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).

In the 1984 elections, the BJP only won two parliamentary seats. But by this defeat, he didn’t give up rather he motivated himself and his party. In 1996 BJP became one of the most strongest parties in India and in 1996 Atal Bihari Vajpayee became the Prime Minister of India for the first time.

Unfortunately, he became the Prime Minister of India only for 13 days in 1996 and resigned from the position of Prime Minister. Again in 1998 when elections were held at that time BJP joined with the NDA and won the election but again in just 13 months, the party collapsed. During this period of 13 months, Atal Bihari Vajpayee permitted to test Nuclear in POKHRAN and the Nuclear test was successful.

Again in 1999 Atal Bihari Vajpayee won the election and became the Prime Minister of India this time NDA won 303 seats in the election. During his period country’s economy grew rapidly and everyone was happy with him. Again when elections were held in 2004 he was defeated by the Congress Party.
